Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is an Employer of Record and who is the legal employer?

An Employer of Record (EOR) legally employs your Australian hires on your behalf. We are the legal employer in Australia - we issue compliant contracts, run payroll and handle statutory obligations. You direct the work and manage performance.

2) Do we need an Australian entity or to register for anything?

No. You do not need an Australian company or local registrations. We employ under our Australian entity and manage PAYG withholding, super, payroll tax, WorkCover, leave and reporting - no extra portals or filings for your team.

3) How fast can we onboard someone?

We typically get employees payroll-ready within 24 hours - contract issued, right-to-work checked, stapled super confirmed and payroll set up. Speed depends on how quickly we receive the approved offer details and ID documents.

4) How do you bill us and what’s included?

You receive one monthly AUD invoice that itemises salary, the statutory on-costs we manage, and our fee. Payroll tax, WorkCover and super are handled by us and included on the invoice - no separate state lodgements or due dates for you.

5) How does Superannuation (SG) work?

Super is a compulsory employer contribution to an employee’s retirement fund. As your Australian EOR, we handle fund choice or stapled super checks, set the correct Ordinary Time Earnings (OTE) basis for salaried professionals (OTE = pay for normal hours), calculate at the current statutory rate, and pay on time via a compliant clearing house. It’s included in our service and appears on your single invoice - no registrations or deadlines for you to manage.

6) Who handles Payroll Tax?

Payroll tax is a state or territory tax on wages. We register, calculate, lodge and pay payroll tax across all states under our own entity. It’s included in our percentage fee on top of salary and appears on your single AUD invoice - no thresholds, grouping rules or due dates for you to track.

7) Who holds Workers’ Compensation (WorkCover)?

We do. WorkCover is compulsory insurance that protects employees if they are injured at work. We obtain and manage the policy under our entity, report wages correctly, keep certificates of currency up to date, and coordinate claims administration if needed - all included, with no separate policy for you to maintain.

8) How are Leave Entitlements handled?

Employees in Australia accrue leave under the National Employment Standards, with extra rules in state long service leave laws and, where relevant, awards or agreements. We configure accruals correctly, calculate any applicable leave loading, and manage balances and payouts from onboarding through to exit - fully processed in payroll and visible on payslips for managers to approve easily.

9) Are our roles covered by awards or allowances?

Most high-earning professional roles are award free. We confirm coverage at onboarding and document it. Where award free, we issue executive contracts with an all-inclusive salary for clarity on hours, incentives and benefits. If an award could apply, we handle the classification, pay rules and any allowances in payroll - and keep them current if rates change. If you choose contractual allowances (travel, car, home office), we set them up, pay them and report them correctly.

10) How do you manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)?

Non-cash benefits - like cars, parking and some entertainment - can attract FBT, separate to payroll tax. We advise on what is in or out of scope, set up compliant processes, and coordinate year-end FBT reporting so your benefits program supports talent attraction without surprise tax bills. Where applicable, FBT amounts can be included on your monthly invoice or recharged as agreed.

11) Can we convert to our own entity later?

Yes. We coordinate a clean transition plan and timeline with you. Practically, the employee is terminated by the EOR and re-hired by your entity on the same or updated terms, with continuity managed so work is not disrupted.

12) How is support delivered?

You get a named local specialist - not a ticket queue. The same person oversees your account end to end, answers payroll and employment questions quickly, and coordinates any changes so managers and finance can stay focused on the work.
